3.
ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The
Championships are organised under the overall authority of the Australian Radio
Yachting Association Incorporated (ARYA) and conducted by the New South Wales
Radio Yachting Association Incorporated and Kogarah Bay Radio Yacht Club and
it’s duly appointed Race Committee.
4. RULES
The
regatta will be governed by The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012 (RRS)
as changed by Appendix E of the RRS - Radio Controlled Boat Racing Rules, this
Notice of Race (NoR), the Sailing Instructions (SI), International Class
Administration Rules, the Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) and the respective
International Class Rules. The Sailing Instructions shall prevail in the event
of conflict with this Notice of Race.
5.
ELIGIBILITY
The
competition is open to financial members of ARYA (Inc) affiliated clubs and to
members of a recognized Division Member of the International Sailing
Federation-Radio Sailing Division. All
boats must have a current registration certificate for the class entered.
6.
REGISTRATION
Boats,
together with their current registration certificate, must be presented for
registration and check-measurement by 9.30am on the first day of competition for
that class. No boat will be eligible
to race until it has completed this process.
7. EVENT
CATEGORY AND ADVERTISING
The
Championships are classified under the ISAF Advertising Code Regulation 20.3.1
(b) as Category C.
The
Organisers reserve the right to advertising according to Regulation 20.3
8. SCORING
AND RACING SYSTEM
The
RRS A4 Low Point Scoring System, as modified by HMS2007 and the Event Sailing
Instructions will apply. Where
there are less than 21 competitors, the event may be sailed in one fleet.
9.
MEASUREMENT
The
Race Committee may direct that all boats entered in the event be check-measured
or alternatively randomly select a number of boats for check measurement. All
boats in the International One Metre Championship will be weighed. Random spot checks may be conducted throughout the duration of the event.
10.
FREQUENCIES
For
frequency bands other than 2.4 Ghz, each competitor shall nominate a minimum of
three (3) frequencies with their entry. The listing of additional frequencies if
available would be helpful. Permitted frequency bands are 27, 29, 36, 40 Mhz and
2.4 Ghz.
11.
PROTESTS
A
Committee will be appointed to hear any protests arising from the event and may
comprise competitors not involved in the incident.
RRS 61.2 and 62.2 may be replaced by
a verbal notification and hearing if all parties affected by the incident agree.
The Organising Committee may specify that protests be subject to
mediation, in which event this will be notified in the Event Sailing
Instructions. Protest mediation may
apply to the event.

Entries will not be accepted from members who are
un-financial at the close of entries.
The number of entries per class shall be limited to 84 boats
as prescribed by the provisions of the HMS 2007. Entry priority
will be determined by the order of receipt of paid entries.
The entry fee will be $70 for the A Class, 10 Raters and
Marbleheads, and $75 for the IOMs and must accompany the entry
form. Cheques or Money Orders are to be made payable to New
South Wales Radio Yachting Association and marked “Not
Negotiable”. Do not send cash.
ENTRY FEE
For A Class, 10 Rater and Marblehead the entry fee is $70. For
IOM the entry fee is $75. Please attach a cheque or money order

Within a couple of days your email address will receive an
itemized invoice through Paypal. This invoice can be paid by
credit card or Paypal transfer through the secure Paypal site.
Included in the entry fee is one meal and one soft drink at
lunch each day for the class event entered. Extra lunches and
drinks may be purchased during the event. The presentation
function and welcome BBQ is included in the entry fee. Drinks
are available in the sailing club after each days racing.
ENTRIES CLOSE on 1 December 2010
Late entries may be accepted until 14 December 2010 on
payment of an additional fee of $ 20.
There will be no refunds of entry fees
13. PRIZES
AND TROPHIES
A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the
Australian Champion in each class. In the event that the winner is an overseas
resident, the perpetual trophy will remain in the possession of the ARYA Inc.
A
minimum of three prizes or trophies will be awarded for each event.
14.
LIABILITY
All
those entering or taking part in these Championships do so at their own risk and
responsibility. The Australian
Radio Yachting Association (Incorporated), New South Wales Radio Yachting
Association and Kogarah Bay Radio Yacht Club and any other parties involved in
the organisation of this event disclaim:
Any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or
inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the
water as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered
by this Notice of Race.
At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and
themselves plus the decision to participate or continue must rest with the
competitors.
By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions.
15.
CONDUCT
The
Australian Radio Yachting Association Inc & The NSW Radio Yachting
Association recognizes that all events offer considerable publicity
opportunities to the Associations and the sport generally. Competitor behaviour
can impact unfavourably on the sport and all competitors.
Behaviour
by a competitor that is in breach of good manners or sportsmanship or which may
bring the
sport
into disrepute shall result in a hearing in accordance with RRS 69.1. or....
The
PRO may offer a competitor a two turns on the spot penalty to avoid going to
protest as per 11.2.
However
the PRO is not obliged to make this offer nor is a competitor obliged to accept
it in which case a protest hearing shall proceed.
